Hi Anne a lot of my dogs sight point when they are young and I’ve had some that were distracted by aipalrnes. These pups have a lot of pointing instinct. What you want to do is ignore the behavior . Don’t try to correct it. When she points, don’t stop or stand still or acknowledge it. Keep right on walking and ignore her. Don’t say anything like leave it, etc. Ignore her and she will outgrow it as training progresses and she is exposed to more birds. Hope this helps. She sounds like a good one, Martha

Mo’s method works…I have used his approach for about five dogs over the years and they are good hunters, win and place in field trials.

Training with Mo book is a great instructional book. I have used this to train my pointing dogs and have success. I own four pointing dogs, Vizslas and WPG. Softer dogs that don’t have success with harsh old school training methods.
