Maurice Lindley
Maurice was introduced to bird dogs when he was 10. That year, he and his brother went hunting with a neighbor who raised English setters. With the first point and covey rise, Maurice says he “was hooked for life” on pointing dogs.
He trained his first pointing dog for a client when he was 16, and he has 28 years experience as a full time pro. He has used the West method for about 14 years, and he says that Bill West changed the way he trains dogs, and the change was for the better.
Maurice trains hunting dogs and trial dogs. Dogs he has trained compete in field events including AKC, American Field, NBHA and NSTRA. He trains all pointing breeds including pointing labs.
Maurice operates Linley’s Kennel in Piedmont, South Carolina.
Martha Greenlee
Martha currently lives in south central Virginia, where she and her husband train and hunt their Brittanys. She has hunted in the Southwest for Gambel’s quail, in the Midwest for pheasants, and in the Northeast for grouse and woodcock. She established Piney Run Kennel in 1991, where she breeds and trains Brittanys and competes with them in field trials. She has trained and handled her dogs to wins in all-age and shooting dog championships, as well as put AKC Field Champion titles on many of them. Martha’s dog NAC/FC/AFC Piney Run Sam won the Brittany National Amateur Championship in 2000.
Martha co-authored The Brittany: Amateurs Training with Professionals, and co-edited Hunting Dogs, Field Trial Dogs, Brittanys. She has contributed stories to another anthology, A Fiesty Little Pointing Dog, and written for several publications, including Field Trial Magazine. Her upcoming book Training with Mo: How Maurice Lindley Trains Pointing Dogs will be available Dec. 2009.
Kim Sampson
Kim is an amateur trainer who lives in Utah, hunts as often as she can, and competes with her dogs in AF/AFTCA field trials. She is fortunate to have been influenced by the Bill West method of training pointing dogs and is extremely grateful for the help and guidance of those who have helped her along the way.
Anne Taguchi
Anne maintains this site. She was introduced to the West/Gibbons method in 1995, and through the generosity and mentorship of many far more knowledgable and experienced, she was inspired to start this site. She is very grateful for the contributors to this site for sharing all their knowledge here.
Anne established Touchstone Weimaraners in 2005. She is also a partner in Snake Breaks Kennels, owned and operated by Steve Reynolds, who has been a pro since 1995. They are located in Southern California.
